1. Overview
PDF to Word is an Android utility that converts a PDF into an editable DOCX document. This Privacy Policy applies to the PDF to Word mobile application and the product pages that link to this policy.
2. How documents are processed
When you choose a PDF, the app copies the selected file into temporary app storage so it can inspect and convert the document. PDF reading, supported optical character recognition (OCR), layout reconstruction, DOCX creation, validation, and preview generation run locally on your Android device.
The current app does not request the Android Internet permission and does not transmit the contents of selected PDFs or generated DOCX files to us.
3. Information we collect
The current version of PDF to Word does not collect or transmit:
- PDF or DOCX document contents;
- names, email addresses, or account credentials;
- advertising identifiers;
- analytics, usage telemetry, or crash reports;
- payment or subscription information; or
- precise or approximate location information.
If you contact support by email, your email provider sends the information you choose to include directly to the support address. We use that message only to respond to your request and maintain necessary support records.
4. Local storage, retention, and deletion
Temporary PDF copy
The app stores a temporary copy of the PDF you selected in its cache while the file is prepared and converted. The app removes the previous cached input when you choose another file, start over, or when the app's working state is cleared. Android may also clear cached data.
Converted documents and previews
Generated DOCX files, preview images, and conversion-history details can remain in the app's private storage so you can return to recent conversions. You can delete a conversion from the app's history. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage through Android settings also removes app-private files.
Copies you save
If you save a copy to a location you choose, that copy is managed by Android and the selected storage provider. You must delete that saved copy from its storage location if you no longer want it.
6. Permissions and file access
PDF to Word uses Android's system document picker. This lets you grant access only to a PDF you select and to a save location you choose. The app does not request broad storage access, camera access, microphone access, location access, contacts access, or Internet access.
The app uses a private Android file provider to securely offer a generated DOCX to another app when you choose Open or Share.
7. Children's privacy
PDF to Word is a general-purpose document utility and is not directed to children. Because the current app does not collect personal information or provide accounts, advertising, social features, or user-to-user communication, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
Local processing and app-private storage reduce exposure of document contents. No application or device can be guaranteed completely secure, so keep Android updated, protect access to your device, and review a destination before sharing a document.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features or data practices change. The revised policy will show a new effective date on this page. If a future version adds network services, analytics, advertising, accounts, or payments, this policy must be updated before those features are released.
